For a Sri Lankan family residing overseas, GG Constructions developed this modern residence in Negombo as a statement of elegance and simplicity. The owners wanted a home that reflected an international lifestyle while remaining practical and comfortable for daily living. The objective was clear: create a modern villa that is minimalist, functional, and timeless.

From the beginning, the challenge was to achieve a balance between bold architectural expression and everyday usability. The design was developed to maintain privacy from the street while creating a bright and open atmosphere internally. White rendered walls, dark vertical finishes, sharp geometric forms, and expansive glazing create a refined architectural presence with quiet confidence.

The ground floor is organized around an open-plan layout where the entrance seamlessly connects to the living and dining spaces. Large glass openings connect the interior directly to the landscaped garden, allowing natural light to flow throughout the home. A guest bedroom with an attached bathroom provides flexibility for visitors and extended family, while dedicated storage and utility spaces keep technical functions neatly organized. The covered car porch has been integrated into the architecture to maintain a clean overall appearance.

The upper floor contains the private family areas, including three bedrooms and a family lounge. The master suite is designed as a peaceful retreat with large windows overlooking greenery outside. Minimal detailing emphasizes proportion, natural light, and simplicity, qualities that define timeless modern architecture.

Narrow Plot Vastu Home

Inside, the living, dining, and kitchen spaces are positioned on the ground floor and connected directly to a private garden and outdoor deck area. This seamless indoor-outdoor relationship creates a relaxed environment ideal for both family living and entertaining guests.

Private spaces are located upstairs, ensuring greater privacy while maximizing natural light and elevated views. Each room has been designed to feel calm, spacious, and detached from the activity below.

Hillside Holiday Villa Near Nuwara Eliya

Designing a holiday villa on steep terrain is always an exciting architectural challenge. For this project near Nuwara Eliya, GG Constructions created a modern villa concept that balances practicality, safety, and visual elegance while embracing the natural landscape.

Openness was a key design principle. The living, dining, and kitchen areas flow together as one large open space overlooking the surrounding valley views. Private spaces, including the bedrooms, are positioned on the lower level to establish a clear separation between communal and private zones.

A dedicated area for a swimming pool has been positioned adjacent to the upper-level living spaces, creating an ideal setting for relaxation and entertaining while enjoying the surrounding scenery.

The villa is designed with modern comforts integrated throughout, including expansive floor-to-ceiling glazing, natural ventilation, energy-efficient planning, premium finishes, and a strong connection between interior and exterior spaces.

The owners had collected inspiration for their dream home over a long period and approached GG Constructions looking for a modern design that reflected their personal style. To maximize this connection, the design was developed around a U-shaped layout that creates a private terrace between the living and sleeping areas. Large glazed openings connect interior spaces directly to the outdoors, enhancing openness and natural light.

The ground floor primarily serves the parents' lifestyle requirements, while the upper floor provides privacy for the children. Upon entering the home, a welcoming lobby leads naturally toward the staircase, home office, and shared living and dining spaces, creating a layout that feels both practical and highly liveable.

Kandy Highland Contemporary Bungalow

Nestled within the Kandy highlands, this contemporary bungalow-style residence captures the beauty of its natural surroundings. Positioned on a site overlooking the mountains, the design was developed as a peaceful retreat focused on relaxation and comfort.

The design brief called for a spacious sleeping wing containing four bedrooms, each with an attached bathroom. The opposite wing accommodates the shared living areas and opens onto a generous outdoor patio that encourages outdoor living and entertaining.

The architecture focuses on simplicity, proportion, and a strong relationship with the surrounding landscape. Large openings frame views of the greenery while natural materials and clean forms create a timeless tropical aesthetic.

Compact Suburban Pool Residence

This GG Constructions residence was designed for a family seeking privacy, calmness, and modern functionality within a compact suburban property. Rather than focusing outward, the design creates a protected internal environment centered around light, landscape, and comfortable living.

The front elevation presents a clean and disciplined architectural appearance with landscaped elements, recessed glazing, and modern geometric forms. Behind this controlled facade lies an open and highly functional layout spread across two levels.

The ground floor living and dining spaces flow directly toward the garden and pool terrace, creating a relaxed atmosphere where indoor and outdoor areas merge naturally through large sliding glass openings.

Upstairs, the bedrooms are positioned to maximize natural light and privacy. Private balconies enhance the sense of retreat while maintaining strong visual connections with the outdoors.
